PURPOSE:To achieve an adequate damping characteristic, by making a piston of a rubber and a pair of plates located on both the sides of the rubber and by fitting the piston in a cylinder to define two liquid chambers and automatically change the spring constant of the rubber depending on a vibration. CONSTITUTION:A piston 12 is fitted in a cylinder 10 so that liquid chambers 14, 16 are defined on the top and bottom of the piston. The lower end 20 of a piston rod 18 is coupled to the piston 12. The piston comprises a rubber 24 and a pair of plates 26. The maximum diameter of the peripheral surface 28 of the rubber 24 is determined so that a liquid passage 30 is defined between the peripheral surface of the rubber and the inside surface 11 of the cylinder 10 when the inside surface 29 of the rubber is fitted on the end 20 of the piston rod 18. According to this constitution, the spring constant of the rubber 24 is automatically changed depending on the frequency of a vibration imparted on the piston 12 through the piston rod 18, to alter a damping force. |
