PURPOSE:To enable the transmission of high motive power and improve the efficiency of transmission, by composing a transmission belt of an endless ring, numerous blocks continuously fitted on the ring and a coil spring surrounding the ring and the blocks. CONSTITUTION:A transmission belt 3 is composed of an endless ring 8 made of a combined material containing carbon fibers and an elastic material, blocks 9 arranged on the ring along its total circumference, and a spring 10 wound to surround the ring and the blocks along the total circumference. To manufacture the spring 10, a continuous spring material of rectangular cross section is processed into a trapezoidal shape coincident with the inclination of the V- groove a pulley and decreased in the distance between the sides 11 from the top 13 toward the bottom 12. The upper part of each block 9 is provided with a curved surface 94 and vertical surfaces 95 for pinch-holding the ring 8. To manufacture the endless ring 8, plural reinforcing elements 81 made of bundled carbon fibers are arranged and dipped in TPE plastic. |
