PURPOSE:To change the speed of an engine as desired by constituting a control device in such a way that the running of the engine is changed from a low to high speed upon contact of the tip of a welding rod with an object to be welded and the low-speed running is resumed upon contact therewith for the set time of a timer or longer. CONSTITUTION:When a welding rod 1 is brought into contact with an object 33 to be welded, an ionizing relay 4 operates to close contacts 8, 9 and open a contact 10. The 1st relay 12 and the solenoid 14 are energized. On the other hand, the 2nd relay 16 is deenergized and an engine is changed over from a low to high speed run. Arc current flows between the rod 1 and the object 33 and welding is accomplished. The arc current flows through the relay 4 during welding and therefore said relay is kept energized. The restoration of the low-speed run of the engine is accomplished by bringing the rod 1 into contact with the material 33 to short circuit continuously both for the set time of a timer 20 or longer. |
