Driver for the chain of a scraper conveyor. This driver comprising a chain housing traversed by the flat and continuous separation surface which separates the conveyor into a top part and into a bottom part, the chain-housing halves thus formed consisting of tubular passages which are separated by a solid part and in which the branches of a horizontal link are arranged, is characterised in that the tubular passages 51, 52 and the solid part 56 are formed in the top part 2, and in that overhanging protruberances 61 are connected to the solid part 56 of the bottom part 1 and recesses 63 of rounded shape are connected to the solid part of the top part 2.
