The invention relates to a folding pushchair. In this pushchair comprising an articulated framework including X-shaped arms of a rear frame connected to vertical uprights 12 supported by rear wheels 4 of the pushchair, the means 14, 14a, 14b, 15 for stiffening the framework simultaneously constitute means for braking the wheels 4 and carry braking members 7 integral with the arms 14a, 14b of a stiffening compasses element which is actuated by a control plate 15 articulated to an arm 14b and comprising a slide 20 in which there is engaged a stud 21 securely fastened to the other arm 14a.
