PURPOSE:To permit the direction of advance of a walking apparatus to be shifted by operating an elongation mechanism with a lock mechanism engaged. CONSTITUTION:When the direction of advance is shifted, a solenoid valve MV1 is moved rightward, and a lock mechanism 20 is released, and a lock mechanism 8 is set into operation state. A solenoid valve MV2 is moved rightward, and then the length of an elongation mechanism 4 is elongated from l1 to l2. Since one edge of the first link 5 of a link mechanism 7 is fixed onto a shaft 16, the top edge of the second link 6 shifts on an arc 23, having a pin 22 as a center. Therefore, the length of the elongation mechanism 4 elongates from l1 to l2, and the lower edge shifts on an arc 24, having the shaft 16 at the upper edge as a center. Therefore, the center of an attracting board 3 is positioned at the intersecting point between the both arcs 23 and 24, and consequently the attracting board 3 shifts to the position shown by the chain line. Thus, the direction of advance can be shifted. |
