PRESSURE TYPE CHARGING FURNACE

PURPOSE:To improve charging accuracy in a pressure type charging furnace which applies a base pressure on a molten metal and charging the molten metal from a charging nozzle after exerting a shot pressure thereon by providing a stopper which opens and closes the nozzle with the front end part thereof on the side upper than the molten metal surface of the charging level coaxially with the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A base pressure P is applied onto a storage chamber 2 by an air feeder 3 and thereafter a shot pressure DELTAP is applied thereon to charge the molten metal from a nozzle 6. A bar-shaped stopper 41 which closes the nozzle 6 with the top end is axially movably provided coaxially with the nozzle 6 on the side upper than the molten metal surface of the charging level. The nozzle 6 is closed by a stopper 41 upon ending of the charging; at the same time, the pressure DELTAP is released to lower the molten metal surface in a charging chamber 4 down to a prevel and therefore the dropping of the molten metal 1 is prevented and the charging accuracy is improved.
