A supply apparatus for a series-excited d.c. motor, the inductor of which is provided with a shunting system comprising a first shunting path controlled by a thyristor, which is controlled by a chopper so as to provide variable shunting for the inductor during the cyclical operation phases of the chopper, and optionally provided with a permanent shunting resistor, characterised in that it comprises a second thyristor controlled shunting path providing maximum shunting effect when the chopper (5) moves to the continuous conduction state, the two controlled shunting paths ensuring that the current flows in the same direction as in the inductor. |
