PURPOSE:To improve the working efficiency and safety by a method wherein the hob is removed from a hob spindle so as to be transferred to a counter-column and vice versa. CONSTITUTION:The hob 4 removed from the hob spindle 6 and a hob arbor 16 supporting the hob is transferred to the counter-column 5 from a hob head 2 due to the rotations of clamping arms 17 driven by an oil pressure cylinder 10. In this case, the hob 4 can be exchanged easily with new one by an automatic tool exchanger or manually. After exchanging the hob, the new hob is mounted on a hob plate by operations quite contrary to the abovementioned operation. |
