978, 958. Spinning apparatus. VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY. July 27, 1962 [July 31, 1961], No. 28861/62. Heading D1D In apparatus for producing yarn from staple fibres comprising feed-rollers 1, a supply tube, and rotating opening chamber 7, the supply tube is in two parts 3, 5 one of which is fixed and adjacent the rollers, and the other rotatable and terminating in at least two channels 9 which extend radially inside the spinning chamber to discharge in the vicinity of the collecting surface of the spinning chamber, so that rotation of the channels produces a reduced pressure to carry the fibres on to the collecting surface. The chamber rotates in the same direction as, or oppositely to the tube 2, the collecting-surface is spherical and downwardly convergent, the part 3 is at least as long as the longest fibres being spun, and apparatus 15 allow the air to escape from the chamber. In another form, the chamber takes the form of a ring with the collecting-surface spherical, a thread guide being disposed beneath the chamber. |
