PURPOSE:To obtain a crack-free and good two phase stainless steel billet and to improve considerably the yield thereof by performing continuous casting while regulating respectively a specific water flow rate and casting speed and averting deposition of an alpha phase. CONSTITUTION:A specific water flow rate is set at a condition of 0.1-0.4l/kg. steel, and a casting speed at 0.4-0.6m/min, respectively in order to avert the nose of the sigma phase in a continuous cooling transformation chart (shaded part) relating to the deposition of the alpha phase in continuous casting of a two phase stainless steel. Then the billet of the good two phase stainless steel which does not crack is thus obtd. by averting the deposition of the sigma phase. If the invention of this method is used, continuous casting is made possible in the process for producing the two phase stainless steel having much potential demand in heat exchangers, coolers, etc. The efficiency and yield of production are considerably improved. |
