PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality by cutting off a synchronizing signal going from a drive circuit toward a solid-state image pickup element for a period before the start of exposure until a vertical synchronizing signal is outputted immediately after an exposing time control signal so as to stop scanning for preventing blooming or vertical smear from being produced in a still pictue video signal. CONSTITUTION:The solid-state image pickup element 10, a diaphragm 9 and a lens 14 of the solid-state image pickup device are arranged on the same optical axis. The drive circuit 13 is connected to the element 10 via a scanning stop circuit 12 and the drive circuit 13 transmits a vertical and a horizontal synchronizing signal to the element 10 at each prescribed time. Further, an exposure control circuit 11 controlling exposure time in response to the light from an object and giving an exposure time control signal to the element 10 is connected to a scanning stop circuit 12. Further, the scanning stop circuit 12 cuts off the synchronizing signal going from the drive circuit 13 toward the element 10 for stopping the scanning over a period before the start of exposure until the vertical synchronizing signal immediately after the exposure time control signal, allowing to prevent blooming or vertical smear from being produced in the still picture video signal. |
