PURPOSE:To prevent a cooler unit from generating offensive odor for a long time, by spraying steam containing therein antimicrobial agents onto a foamed resin heat insulator applied on the inside of a cooler casing housing an evaporator, during the heat insulator being molded, so that the heat insulator is deeply impregnated with the antimicrobial agent. CONSTITUTION:The casing 3 of a cooler unit 2, which houses an evaporator 1 is formed of two casing parts 4, 5 which are mated together. Further, a foamed resin heat insulator 6 is applied on the inner surface of the casing 3 in order to aim at insulating heat from the outside. In this arrangement, the insulating material 6 is deeply impregnated with antimicrobial agents. The heat insulator 6 may be deeply impregnated with the antimicrobial agent by spraying, for example, steam containing therein the antimicrobial agents onto foamable resin when the latter is formed and molded. With this process by which the heat insulator 6 may be deeply impregnated, the antimicrobial agents may enhance the effects of protection against germs and sterilization, thereby it is possible to surely prevent offensive odor from generating. |
