PURPOSE:To attain to enhance printing quality by uniformizing the size of a printing dot, by applying printing voltage by correcting a leak current generated between heat generating elements of a thermal head wherein a plurality of lead wires are connected to one elongated heat generating body. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal head S wherein two kinds of lead wires 12, 13 are alternately connected to one elongated heat generating body 11 and printing is performed by applying signal voltage to heat generating elements between said lead wires 12, 13, a current calculation means 35 for calculating a leak current other than a printing current flowed to each heat generating element from the state of voltage applied to the lead wires 12, 13 is provided and an applied energy calculation means 37 for correcting voltage applied to each heat generating element corresponding to the leak current state is mounted. |
