PURPOSE:To hold the number of revolutions of a power generator constant by driving the generating machine through synthesis of the propeller drive force with the power of a steam turbine, which is driven by the steam from an exhaust boiler of a ship-purpose Diesel main-engine, wherein said power synthesis is performed by the use of a differential gearing. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust boiler 16 is to produce steam by the use of exhaust heat from a ship-purpose Diesel main-engine 1 and drive a steam turbine 17. The speed of this steam turbine 17 is adjusted by a controller so as to make a correction in response to speed change of the propeller shaft 2. Rotation of this propeller shaft 2 fed through a pair of speed-increasing gears 4, 5 is synthesized with the rotation of steam turbine 17 fed through a pair of gears 11, 9 through the action of a sun gear 6, planet gear 7 and ring gear 8, in order to rotate a synchronous power generator 12 at a constant speed with a gear 10 interposed. If the output power of the steam turbine 17 is not sufficient, a DC generator 19 is used to assist it. |
