PURPOSE:To provide heat sensitive recording paper enhanced in color forming sensitivity and preservability, obtained by containing methyl p-benzyloxybenzoate in a heat sensitive recording layer comprising a combination of a color formable substance and a phenol compound. CONSTITUTION:In heat sensitive recording paper using a combination of a usually colorless or light colored color formable substance (e.g., Crystal Violet lactone) and a phenol compound (which is one pref. melted at 70 deg.C or more and develops the above mentioned color formable compound through the reaction therewith and, for example, represented by 4,4'-isopropylidene diphenol), methyl p-benzyloxybenzoate is contained in a heat sensitive recording layer in an amount of, pref., 0.01-1pt. per 1pt. of the phenol compound. |
