PURPOSE:To decrease the reduction in picture quality by generating a defect display signal with an output of a ring counter transferring by a clock taking a signal output period of one picture element as a period so as to uniform noise in an output signal of each picture element of a solid-state image pickup element. CONSTITUTION:A reset signal and a clock signal from input terminals 1, 2 are inputted to a counter 5 of a picture element defect compensating circuit so as to designate an address of a memory 6 where a data of horizontal line having a defect is written. An output of the memory 6 is taken as a clock input of a counter 7 and an output of the counter 7 is taken as an address of a memory 10 in which a data corresponding to the horizontal position of defect in response to a defect. An output of the memory 10 is inputted to ring counters 11-13 during the horizontal blanking period and transferred during the horizontal scanning period by a clock taking a signal output period of one picture element at an input terminal 3 as the period during the horizontal scanning period. Further, the output of the counters 11-13 is outputted as a defect display signal from a logical gate 14. |
