PURPOSE:To provide a multi-color printing output apparatus economized in the use of an ink ribbon, constituted by mounting a plurality of ink ribbon cartridges of an output apparatus for performing multi-color printing while mounting a mechanism for automatically performing the exchange of said cartridges by an external order. CONSTITUTION:Parts capable of mounting and detaching a plurality of ink ribron cartridges 2 having ink ribbons 21 respectively having different colors are mounted to a carriage 5 movable in X-Y directions and said ink ribbon cartridges 2 are engaged with the carriage 5 within the movable range thereof in X-Y directions. In this state, the carriage 5 is moved to a place where the ribbon cartridge in which the ink ribbon 21 having a desired color is engaged by an external order to mount a cassette 25 on the carriage 5 and desired printing is performed. |
