PURPOSE:To compensate the thermal deformation of each radiation panel and to ensure the prescribed radar performance by providing a variable phase shifter for compensation of phase at the middle of a feeding circuit of each radiation panel and controlling the degree of phase with a command given from the ground. CONSTITUTION:For a development type antenna mounted on a flying object like an artificial satellite, etc., radiation panels 1a-1h are connected to each other via a transmitter 2, a receiver 5 and a transmitting/receiving branching filter 3. At the same time, variable phase shifters 7a-7h are provided at the middle of feeding circuits 4a-4h respectively. The thermal deformations of panels 1a-1h which are generated on a flying track can be detected by monitoring the temperatures given from thermistors provided on the panels 1a-1h. Then a command is sent to a controller 6 from the ground in order to compensate the thermal deformations of the panels 1a-1h. Based on this command, the controller 6 controls the degree of phase of each of the shifters 7a-7h to prevent the deterioration of radiation characteristics which is due to the thermal deformation. |
