PURPOSE:To prevent a band material from being scratched when it is passed, by ejecting a fluid to float the band material to spirally pass it around two or more cylindrical fluid floating units. CONSTITUTION:Two or more cylindrical fluid floating units 15, 15' are arranged in parallel with each other. A fluid such as gas is supplied under pressure to the floating units 15, 15' through fluid introducing pipes 17, 17' to eject the fluid from the slits 12 of the peripheral surfaces of the floating units to float a metal band 1. The metal band is thus passed without contact, spirally around the floating units 15, 15' alternately, as the band is moved in the axial directions of the floating units. |
