PURPOSE:To improve the appearance quality with a contact surface put tight on the fitting part by providing the contact surface for the fitting part at an end rim while a thin section is provided to deflect the contact surface surface- wise within the end rim inward from the contact surface. CONSTITUTION:A pad 2 is provided for safety covering the surface of an instrument panel pad for an automobile and an end rim section 6 is provided along the fitting part 5. In this case, a contact surface 64 is formed at the end rim section 6 with an outer end face 52 of the fitting part 5 while a thin section 7 is provided on the back of the contact surface 64 and within the end rim section 6 inward from the contact surface 64 to deflect the contact surface 64 surface- wise. In this manner, mounting the pad 2 at the fitting part 5 causes the contact surface 64 at the end rim section 6 to be deflected to the back thereof being pressed on the outer end surface 52 of the fitting part 5. This can elevate the appearance quality without developing a clearance which impairs the appearance quality. |
