PURPOSE:To increase productivity, improve temperature distribution and reduce cost by providing taper that makes the diameter near both ends of a roll smaller toward a tube end. CONSTITUTION:The part A of a fixing roll at which the roll touches copying paper is not tapered as before, but the part B that does not touch the paper is tapered toward the tube end. An Al2O3 insulating film 3 of about 200mum thick, a resisting film 2 of about 60mum thick, an electrode material 5 of about 200mum thick and finally a ''Teflon'' film 1 of about 30mum are melt-sprayed. By giving the taper, the tapered part having an angle theta formed by the taper obtains I/sectheta thickness compared with the thickness of the part B to make the film thickness of the part B thinner. As the electrode 5 is not projected from the tefron film 1, centerless working is possible by the surface grinding of the outer diameter of the roll, and the resistance of the part B becomes greater toward the tube end. |
