<p>An assembly for suppressing overvoltage transients on a coaxial line carrying signals to an electrical recording apparatus has four diodes (3, 4, 5, 6) connected in each case in pairs, in anti-parallel with respect to each other, between the conductor (1) and the screen (2) of the coaxial line. This assembly is intended to limit even high-energy overvoltage transients in a simple, quick manner. This is achieved in that two diodes (e.g. 4, 6) connected in anti-parallel with respect to each other respond very quickly to voltage changes, in comparison with the other two diodes (3, 5) connected in anti-parallel with respect to each other, and that the diodes (3, 4, 5, 6) are distributed approximately in a star shape around the conductor (1). <IMAGE></p> |
