PURPOSE:To improve measuring accuracy, by protruding pipe shaped members in the direction approximately perpendicular to a main air path, forming inlet and outlet paths of a bypass for an air flowmeter, thereby reducing the resistance of air. CONSTITUTION:Air enters an air horn part 1, passes Venturi part 2 or a bypass 3, and is supplied to an engine. The bypass reaches a hot wire element 34 through an inlet pipe 31, a vertical path 32, and an orifice 33. The flow speed of the air is detected by the hot wire element 34. The air joins the main air path through an output pipe 35. By protruding the two pipes into the main air path, the phases of pulsations of air in the main air paths and in the bypass are matched, and the output of the hot wire 34 becomes normal. Since the axial line of the main air path is a straight line, air is not disturbed, the air flow in the bypass is stabilized, resistance in the flow path is decreased, and the measuring accuracy is improved. |
