PURPOSE:To prevent wire breakdown of an element due to vibration and thermal shock, by arranging a flexible electric insulating member, which is not fused at a temperature lower than the fusing temperature of a fuse element between the fuse element and a protecting cap, with a fusing space being made to remain. CONSTITUTION:A fuse element 1 is enclosed in a protecting cap 6 and insulated and held by a flexible capsule 5 made of ceramic fiber. One end of the fuse element is connected to a core wire 3a of a sheath pin 3. Therefore, the fuse element 1 is not broken owing to a cushioning action of the capsule 5 even though excessive shock is applied to a heat sensitive part. Even though excessive thermal shock is applied, stress caused by the thermal expansion and contraction, which is applied to the fuse element 1, is blocked by the sheath pin 3, and the fuse element 1 is not borken. The fuse element is fused without fail at a preset temperature since a fusing space S is provided. Thus the breakdown of the fuse element due to vibration and thermal shock can be prevented. |
