PURPOSE:To produce continuously an Al plate material at a relatively high speed with an inpexpensive installation by solidifying the molten metal charged between a rotary drum and a water cooled metallic mold in the head part of the drawing out plate inserted preliminarily in a casting cavity and drawing out the metal on a down stream side as the drum rotates. CONSTITUTION:A molten metal is charged 36 diagonally downward from the bottom of an anterior chamber 33 of a molten metal well 31 toward a drum 11 and is solidified from the part in contact with a drawing-out plate 38 inserted preliminarily between the drum 11 and a retaining metallic mold 21. The drum 11 is then rotated and the solidified metal is drawn out continuously as a solidified metallic plate from the plate 38 by a pull rope 39 at the same speed as the drum 11. The charged metal ends solidification at the down stream end of the mold 21 in this case and the drum 11 rotates by carrying the solidified metallic plate. On the other hand, the die 21 remains static but the molded plate detached from the bottom end of the mold 21 is drawn out while it is sandwiched and guided between pinch rolls 13 disposed along about 1/4 of the circumference of the drum 11 and the drum 11 from the bottom end of the mold 21. |
