<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a carbonaceous adsorbent from combustion danger and damage by burning if gas leakage is generated, by bringing the pressure of high temp. gas passing the heat exchange pipe mounted in a desorbing tower to negative pressure as compared with the outside of the pipe while adjusting the oxygen concn. to a predetermined value or less. CONSTITUTION:A carbonaceous adsorbent from an adsorbing tower is supplied to a desorbing tower constituted by arranging a plurality of heat exchange pipes 24 in a heating part 2A in a connected state from above. The adsorbent is heated by high temp. gas passing through the heat exchange pipes 24 during downward movement while forming a moving layer and SO2 is desorbed from said adsorbent. In this case, the pressure of the high temp. gas passing through the heat exchange pipes 24 is kept lower than that of the outside of the heat exchange pipes 24 and the oxygen concn. thereof is adjusted to 1% or less. In order to lower the oxygen concn. to 1% or less, combustion exhaust gas obtained by burning coal in a low oxygen state is utilized as the high temp. gas.</p> |
