PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of flaws, defects in dimension and shape, and damages of tool, by closing a caliber gap by a pair of guide shoes and rolling a pipe while restricting the pipe within a rolling zone by a pair of the guide shoes. CONSTITUTION:In rolling a pipe 4 between a circular caliber 2 formed by a pair of rolling rolls 1, 1' and a plug or a mandrel 3 arranged in the inside of the pipe 4, the gap of caliber 2 is closed by a pair of guide shoes 6, 6'. And the pipe 4 is rolled by the shoes 6, 6' while restricting the rolling zone of pipe 4. By this method, the clearance S between the guide shoes can be changed during rolling by pressure reducing cylinders 7, 7'. |
