PURPOSE:To prevent edge roughening of a cold rolled steel sheet occuring in defective trimming as far as possible and to improve yield by shaving both edges of a strip after continuous pickling by using cutting blades to trim said edges. CONSTITUTION:Both edges of a strip 1 which is descaled in a continuous pickling line and is conveyed to a coiler disposed on the outlet side of said line are cut by, for example, cutting tools 2 for shaving disposed so as to sandwich the strip from both sides of the conveying line. The strip 1 is thereafter cold-rolled, whereby the cold-rolled steel sheet free from edge roughening is obtd. The swarf 3 formed by the tools 3 is dropped and collected to the downstream side by, for example, the compressed air ejected from the upper stream to the downstream side of a cutter provided with the tools 2. |
