PURPOSE:To obtain a magnet having higher performance at a low cost by specifying the cooling rate of an Sm-base permanent magnet represented by a specified general formula after sintering. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic alloy represented by the formula (where R is one or more among Sm, Pr and Ce, M is one or more among Hf, Nb, Zr, Ta and Ti, 0.15<=x<=0.20, 0.04<=y<=0.10, 0.003<=z<=0.0035, and w=7.0-8.0) is pulverized to prepare fine particles. The particles are magnetically arranged, press-molded, and sintered in an inert gaseous atmosphere. The sintered body is cooled at once at 200-500 deg.C/min cooling rate, and it is aged to obtain a magnet having high performance. |
