PURPOSE:To perform the positional detection of a moving body with high accuracy, by calculating the correction angles of laser beam emitting angles in up and down directions while correcting the beam emitting angles on the basis of the calculated correction angles in the next scanning. CONSTITUTION:The position detecting apparatus on a moving body V is rotated in the horizontal plane of a chasis by a motor 4 and equipped with a laser beam emitting apparatus 6 constituted so as to be shaken in up and down directions by a motor 5, light receiving elements 8 which are arranged above and below the laser beam emitting port 7 of said apparatus 6 in one line and detect reflected lights from corner cubes 1-3, an encoder 9 which is directly connected to the motor 4 and detects laser beam emitting angles in a horizontal plane and a calculator 10 for controlling positional detection and the laser beam emitting angles in an up and down directions. The calculator 10 calculates the position of the moving body V itself on the basis of the output of the encoder 9 while, at the same time, calculates the correction angles of the laser beam emitting angles in the up and down directions by the information of the light receiving elements and corrects the emitting angles on the basis of the calculated correction angles in the next scanning. |
