Metal or plastic apparatus which, owing to its design, enables a person to raise himself by approximately 50 centimetres and to be able to move freely in this manner, while retaining good stability. The metal apparatus consists of an ovoid tubular base 4 surmounted by four tubes 2 and of a sole equipped with straps 5 permitting fastening to the feet. The plastic-version of the apparatus is composed of a plastic skirt 3 and of a sole 1 equipped with fastening straps 5. <IMAGE>
