PURPOSE:To attain recording such as multiple copying by forming plural kinds of toner images successively on a toner image holding body and transferring each toner image to an intermediate transfer body every time of transferring to form plural kinds of toner images on the intermediate transfer body and then transferring these toner images from the intermediate transfer body to the succeeding transfer material. CONSTITUTION:When a latent image for a yellow image is formed on an exposing part 4, the developing operation of a Magenta developing part 7 and a cyan developing part 8 is released and only yellow id developed by an yellow developing part 6. The yellow toner image formed on a drum 1 is formed on a drum 2 by energizing a transfer roll 12 at the time close to a press copying part 9 in accordance with the rotation of the drum 1 and pressing the imtermediate copying belt 11 into contact with the drum 2. Consequently, the yellow toner image on the drum 2 is pressed and copied to/on the intermediate copying belt 11. At the time of transferring, press-contact between a copy fixing roll 13 and a press-contact roll 15 in a transfer fixing part 14 is released and the yellow toner image is carried again to the press transferring part 9 in accordance with the movement of the belt while being held on the imtermediate transfer belt 11.
