The subject of the invention relates to a linear-current biodetector device associated with a detector of strong turbidity for monitoring water pollution. It is characterised by the combination of a working cell 1 of oblong cross section with a cylindrical body and frustoconical end pieces. A double alarm system is fitted to the apparatus: a manometric contactor 12 allows the death of the troutlet and consequently the eventuality of pollution, to be detected. A photoelectric cell 16 indicates the exceeding of a set-point turbidity threshold of the water and allows the life and behaviour of the young fish to be monitored. It is intended to detect the death of a troutlet of size 7 to 12 cm, swimming in a continuous flow of sample water. The surrender of the animal to the flow is detected by a double, hydraulic and electronic, monitoring. <IMAGE>
