The invention relates to devices for the treatment of hydrocephalus, in particular so-called obstructive hydrocephalus, using an intracraneal catheter 1 connected to a tube allowing diversion of the flow of the spinocerebral fluid from the cerebral ventricles to the peritoneal cavity or the right auricle of the heart. At a predetermined distance from its free end, the catheter is fitted with a flange 30 allowing its positioning at the dura mater. In the vicinity of this flange, on the free-end side, one or more intermediate orifices 40 are provided, intended to connect with the arachnoidal spaces. These orifices are preferably axial elongated slots with rounded edges. <IMAGE>
