PURPOSE:To permit to detect the ignition timing with a device of comparatively simple constitution by a method wherein the ignition timing is determined in the manner that it is the time when the output of a pressure detector unde an explosion stroke has become predetermined times of a pressure signal at a predetermined crank angle under a compression stroke. CONSTITUTION:A timing detecting cicuit 2, detecting a timing under synchronizing with the rotation of a crank shaft from the outputs of an angular position detector 22 and a reference position detector 23, and the pressure detector 1, utilizing a piezo element, are provided to input the output signals of both detectors into an inigiton timing decision circuit 3. The decision circuit 3 consists of a sample hold circuit 31, sample-holding the output signal of the pressure detector 1 at a predetermined crank angle under a compression stroke, a non-convertible amplifier 32, a comparating circuit 33, a gate circuit 34 and a counter circuit 35. When the output of the pressure detector 1 under an explosion stroke has become a predetermined times of the output of the sample hold circuit, this time is determined that it is the ignition timing. |
