PURPOSE:To finely control high speed by using an eddy-current solenoid brake as a brake for a servo-mechanism and using a non-contact brake as a speed change brake so as to eliminate the need of a moving member such as a friction material. CONSTITUTION:In a servo-mechanism 26 for changing the effective diameter of an input pulley 23 and a servo-mechanism 27 for changing the effective diameter of an output pulley 24, a down-shift brake 6 and an up-shift brake 7 are eddy- current solenoid brakes. In case of up-shift operation, the brake is engaged to rotate sleeves 262, 272 relatively to sleeve portions 278, 247 of movable flanges, so that the movable flange 23B is displaced in the direction of increasing the effective diameter of the input pulley 23, and the movable flange 24B is displaced in the direction of decreasing the effective diameter of the output pulley 24, thereby reducing the speed change ratio. Thus, a non-contact brake is used as a speed change brake, and a moving member such as a friction material is not required, so that the rise and end time of braking torque is short to generate no drag torque so as to finely control high speed. |
