PURPOSE:To form a Q switch laser oscillator preventing the reduction of the modulation factor of an ultrasonic Q switch element and oscillating stable Q switch pulses by fitting plural ultrasonic vibrators to one ultrasonic medium. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic Q switch element 6 is constituted by an ultrasonic medium 7 and ultrasonic tranducers 10, 11 forming ultrasonic phase diffracting grids 8, 9. High frequency power signals are applied from a high frequency driver 22 to the transducers 10, 11 through transmission lines 24, 25 and impedance matching circuits 12, 13. The high frequency driver 22 modulates the amplitude of an output from a high frequency generating circuit 20 generating a signal having frequency forming an ultrasonic phase diffracting grid interval providing the optimum diffraction effect to laser light on the ultrasonic medium 7 by an output signal from a repeating frequency setting circuit 21 setting up the repeat of Q switch pulses. Thus, the ultrasonic transducers 10, 11 excited by the high frequency driver 22 form the ultrasonic phase diffracting grids 8, 9 on the ultrasonic medium 7 to execute Q switching operation. |
