PURPOSE:To obtain the shape of resin coats which is effective for joining the resin coats of two optical fiber cords and binding optical fibers by forming a part of the end parts of the resin coats like a recessed shape. CONSTITUTION:A part of the end part of the resin coats 2 with which the optical fibers 1 are coated is formed like a recessed shape 2b so that the resin coats may smoothly contact with the optical fibers at the root of the exposed parts of the optical fibers. Joining of these optical fiber cords at the recessed part 2b makes it possible to bind the exposed parts of the optical fibers 1 tightly at the root 1a part. In addition, the optical fibers 1 are just gently curved, so that the stress is small. Thus, the optical fibers exposed from the resin coats can be tightly jointed at a part near the root of the optical fibers and binded firmly without applying large stress, improving the reliability. |
