PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic toner capable of forming an always stable sharp image high in image density and good in moisture resistance by incorporating a sorbitan ester type surfactant. CONSTITUTION:This toner incorporates a magnetic powder and a binder and about 0.01-2wt% sorbitan ester type surfactant based on the magnetic powder. Said surfactant contains a carbonyl group and O or OH group or the like, in the molecular structure, having affinity to the magnetic body, and hydrophobic groups, too. So, affinity of the magnetic body to the organic matter is enhanced, and its compatibility with the binder made of a resin, etc. is elevated. As a result, the magnetic powder is uniformly dispersed and a toner high in moisture resistance is obtained, and variance of properties due to the cause in the manufacture can be suppressed. A high blackening degree is obtained, electrostatic chargeability and transferability are improved, and a sharp image high and always stable in image density can be formed. |
