CULTIVATION OF LYMPHOKINE-PRODUCING CELLS

PURPOSE:Lymphokine-producing cells are proliferated only by adding nutrients for makeup by no use of specific tools and equipment as well as a large amount culture medium of preliminary culture medium containing expensive serum to increase the cell density. CONSTITUTION:In the proliferation cultivation of lymphokine-producing cells, the nutrients consumed in the culture medium are fed as the osmotic pressure is kept so that the increase in the cell volume is made as little as possible and cytotoxicity does not develop in the term between the latter half of the logarithmic growth phase and the stationary phase. For example, the nutrients from which the components increasing osmotic pressure such as sodium chloride and potassium chloride are partially or completely excluded and are supplied in the form of a powder or concentrate solution so that the original culture medium causes no cytotoxicity by change in osmotic pressure.
