The collapsible table has a two-piece additional top element (6, 7) which can be inserted between the actual table top [sic] and, when not in use can be pushed into the hollow pillar (1) which is used as the table frame. In order to simplify the insertion and removal of the additional top element (6, 7), a guide profile (8) is provided inside the hollow pillar (1), on which guide profile (8) a guide carriage (9) which is connected to the additional top element can be displaced longitudinally. A counter-weight arrangement (10, 12) compensates for the weight of the additional top element (6, 7), on the one hand the deflection roller (11) of the counter-weight arrangement and on the other hand an additional guide roller (11a) for supporting and guiding the additional top element (6, 7) being used both during extraction and during insertion. <IMAGE>
