PURPOSE:To enable exact measurement of a hydrogen concn. at a high temp. of 250-1,200 deg.C by using a sintered body of a proton conductive solid oxide consisting basically of strontium and cerium as an element and detecting the voltage generated by the difference in the partial pressure of the hydrogen between the elements. CONSTITUTION:Porous platinum electrodes 2, 2' having 7mm. diameter are attached in the central part on both surfaces of a sintered plate 1 of SrCe0.95Yb0.05 O2.8 having, for example, 12mm. diameter and 0.5mm. thickness, and the top end of an alumina ceramic pipe 3 having 12mm. outside diameter, 9mm. inside diameter and 100mm. length is adhered thereto by an adhesive agent. Lead wires 5, 5' are drawn out from both electrodes 2, 2' and are used as electromotive force terminals. A thermocouple 6 and a detector 7 are provided. The plate 1 is heated to 600 and 800 deg.C, and hydrogen of one atmospheric pressure is passed through the inside of the pipe 3 to expose the plate 1 in the gas contg. hydrogen, then the safe electromotive force that does not depend on time is obtd. |
