Device which replaces a piston-like component which is actuated by means of a pressure medium, is movably mounted in a cylinder space and, by the action of its force, is used to directly or indirectly lock an object, when the latter fails, the replacement device acting independently of the pressure means, characterised in that the movement of this piston-like component is directly accompanied, in addition, by action on mechanical components which are designed and embodied in such a way that they directly and steplessly lock either the piston-like component or a rod part of any desired design secured on the latter, or a shoulder bolt or stop lever taken along by this movement, provided with any desired number of notch-like teeth, engages automatically by spring pressure or into other components of any desired design.
