PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of waving and twisting in a light-gage strip peeled from a cooling roll by providing a belt conveyor which cools and transfers the light-gage strip peeled from the cooling roll in proximity to said roll. CONSTITUTION:A belt conveyor 8 for cooling and transferring is provided in proximity to a cooling roll 1 below a molten metal ejecting nozzle 3 of the roll 1. A light-gage strip 4 directly formed from a molten metal 2 is brought into contact with the surface of the roll 1 to certain extent and thereafter the strip is peeled from the surface of the roll 1 by a scraper 5 and is transferred through a chute 10 onto the conveyor 8. The strip 4 is cooled during transfer. Gas, for example, gaseous N2, is injected from gas injecting nozzles 9 and the strip 4 is cooled to a desired temp. by controlling the temp., flow rate, pressure, etc. of the gas or adjusting the length of the belt of the conveyor 8. |
