A feed-water preheater has a housing 1, in which pipes 3, 4, 5 are provided, wound around a core pipe 2. The feed-water to be heated is guided in the pipes, and in the outer space a heating fluid, for example low-pressure steam, flows around the pipes. The feed-water preheater contains three zones 19, 20, 21 which are designed as heat removal zone, condensation zone and supercooling zone for the heating fluid. At least two of these zones are arranged radially next to one another around the core pipe. <IMAGE>
