A hair curler with a curling core and a holding element extending from one end to the other of the curling core has at each of both ends of the curling core (1) a flange (2, 3), which has receptacles (5, 7, 7') which are arranged distributed over the circumference at a distance from the lateral surface of the curling core (1) and are for a small rod (6) forming the holding element and extending from one flange (2) to the other flange (3). These identically designed, freely selectable receptacles (5, 7, 7') are of a design which secures the inserted small rod (6) against any displacement to the outside in the radial direction. <IMAGE>
