PURPOSE:To enable exact temp. measurement by inserting a fiber which permits transmission of far IR light in the deep part of the body, and measuring the intensity of the far IR light conducted to the outside of the body with a temp. sensor. CONSTITUTION:Far IR optical fiber 1 is constituted of a material of, for example, chalcogen glass. The one end of the fiber is inserted into a cylindrical plastic guide 6 and is inserted in this state into the deep part of the tissue 7 of a human body. The other end is connected to a sensor part 8 and a far IR sensor 2 is placed on a header 3. The electrode of the sensor 2 is led out via an output pin 4. The other end of the fiber 1 is covered by a plastic paste 5 so as to be supported oppositely. The radiation of the far IR light proportional to the 4th power of the temp. in the tissue 7 arrives via the fiber 1 at the sensor 2 and the electrical signal proportional to the intensity thereof is taken from the sensor part 8. |
