PURPOSE:To adjust easily the roll gap of an open-sided mill and to improve the accuracy of a product by turning an eccentric pressure receiving rod interposed between a roll housing case and a bearing housing, and providing a balancing member for energizing both bearing housings in the direction of separating them from each other. CONSTITUTION:When a handle 35 is turned, a worm shaft 29 at one side is directly rotated and a worm shaft 29 at the other side is rotated through a connecting shaft 33. And pressure receiving rods 21 are rotated through worms 28 and worm wheels 27, and bearing housings 14 are subjected to rolling reduction to reduce the roll gap between rolling rolls in accordance with the amount of eccentricity. Next, balancing members 36 are interposed between both housings 14, 14 to open the roll gap. And both housings 14, 14 are always energized in the direction of separating them from each other by hydraulic balancing cylinders 37 and pressure receiving seats 39 for receiving the pressing forces of cylinder pistons 38. Accordingly, the opening and closing of the rolling rolls are performed by turning the handle 35 through said interlocking mechanism. |
