In the method for the lubrication of high-speed bearings, a bore directed axially at the bearing is provided, the cross-section of which at a point just in front of the bearing is filled with a porous accumulator element. The accumulator element is connected by way of a capillary pipe to an oil storage vessel. When the accumulator element is filled or saturated with a sufficiently large quantity of oil, the bore is connected to a compressed air source and compressed air is thereby admitted to the accumulator element in such a way that the oil collected in this is sprayed onto the bearing.
